Job Description

We are a small chemical manufacturer seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Printer& Labeler to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for printing custom product labels using a Konica Minolta digital printer based on daily job tickets, ensuring accurate, high-quality, regulatory-compliant labels for a variety of customer-requested packaging sizes (bottles, drums, totes, pails, etc.). This position combines digital printing operations with attention to chemical labeling requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-team environment, pays close attention to detail to prevent labeling errors, and takes pride in producing professional, durable labels that support safe product handling and customer satisfaction. Review and interpret daily job tickets / work orders from sales, production, or customer service, including product details, batch numbers, hazard classifications, customer-specific requirements, and requested label sizes/formats. Prepare print files and set up the Konica Minolta digital printer (or similar production printer) for each job, selecting appropriate media (label stock), adjusting color profiles, print quality settings, and layout to match specifications.
  • Print labels in required quantities for various packaging formats (e.g., small bottles, 1-gallon jugs, 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, intermediate bulk containers), ensuring correct size, orientation, and placement of elements.
  • Perform quality checks on printed labels for print clarity, color accuracy, text legibility, alignment, and adhesion suitability; rework or reprint as needed to maintain zero-defect standards.
  • Load, unload, and manage label stock inventory (various sizes, materials such as paper, vinyl, polyester, or chemical-resistant synthetics); monitor supplies and report low stock.
  • Perform routine printer maintenance: clean print heads, replace toner/ink cartridges, clear jams, run calibration tests, and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Accurately record production data, including quantities printed, materials used, job completion times, and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety policies and chemical handling guidelines.
  • Assist with other light production/packaging tasks during slower print periods (e.g., applying pre-printed labels, packaging support) as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with production team, supervisors, and occasionally customers regarding label specifications or urgent reprint requests.
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of experience operating digital printers (Konica Minolta experience strongly preferred) or label production equipment in a manufacturing/print environment. Familiarity with label design software, Microsoft Office, and basic file preparation for printing. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy — critical for chemical labeling where errors can have safety/regulatory implications. Basic understanding of GHS labeling requirements and chemical hazard communication (training provided if needed). Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance/troubleshooting. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally (label stock boxes, finished packaging). Good reading comprehension, basic math skills, and ability to follow written/verbal instructions precisely. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a small-team setting Join us in creating high-quality labels that stand out! Bring your mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and passion for manufacturing excellence to our innovative team today!
