Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker operates a variety of CNC and fabrication equipment to support daily production needs in a metal fabrication and welding shop. This role focuses on safely and efficiently running machines such as hardware equipment, bandsaws, burn tables, and other fabrication tools while maintaining quality standards and meeting production goals. Responsibilities Operate a variety of CNC and manual fabrication equipment, including hardware machines, bandsaws, burn tables, and related tools, based on daily production requirements. Set up machines according to job specifications, ensuring correct materials, measurements, and settings before beginning production runs. Monitor machine operation throughout the shift to maintain consistent quality and promptly address basic issues or irregularities. Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure parts are produced to correct dimensions and specifications. Assist with metal finishing tasks as needed to prepare parts for further processing, welding, or painting. Work closely with the welding, painting, and machine operating departments to support smooth workflow across the shop. Inspect finished parts visually and with basic measuring tools to verify quality and adherence to standards. Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment while working in a welding and fabrication environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall shop cleanliness and efficiency. Support overtime and additional production demands as needed to meet customer and shop deadlines. Essential Skills Proven experience in machine operating in a production or fabrication environment. Hands-on experience with CNC operating, including basic setup and operation. Ability to operate burn tables safely and efficiently. Experience with bandsaw operation in a metal fabrication setting. Metal finishing experience in a shop environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to produce parts to specification. Comfort working around welding and fabrication processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently. Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift hours. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in fabrication or welding shop environments. Familiarity with working in multiple departments such as paint, welding, and machine operating. Ability to learn and adapt to different machines and tasks based on daily production needs. Strong teamwork and communication skills in a shop setting. Work Environment This position is based in a welding and metal fabrication shop with a very open layout and multiple dedicated work areas, including a paint area, welding department, and machine operating department. The environment is typical of a weld shop and can be slightly dirty, with exposure to metalworking processes, noise, and industrial equipment. The role is on 2nd shift, working Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with opportunities for overtime. Team members work around welding, CNC machines, burn tables, and bandsaws and are expected to wear appropriate protective gear suitable for a fabrication and welding environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of New Richmond, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
