Job Description

Position Objective:
The Production Specialist is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below. This position is a vital part to the overall success of our organization as a manufacturer of animal feed and nutrition products and services. The objective of this position is to assist in plant operations through proper feed production and production standards for safety, quality and production-related activities. In this role, you should be prepared to work in a fast paced, team-centered environment that will challenge you and allow you to use your experience and expertise to develop the company and enhance your continued growth within the animal feed and nutrition industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Feed Production - mixing and processing feed to proper specifications. Follow Standard Operating Procedures per company protocol to ensure a safe environment, ensuring Food Safety and Efficiency. Report any food safety or sanitization issues to management. Maintenance and housekeeping as noted and directed. Follow all quality assurance guidelines as a Qualified Individual. Communicate feed quality or equipment issues to the Production Supervisor or management Assist in production efficiencies and improvements where directed. Complete daily production plan, as scheduled, and assigned. Monitor and maintain records and procedures necessary for regulatory and third-party verifications as it relates to FDA, EPA, OSHA, and HACCP Certification. Maintain quality Customer Service by following organizational standards. Maintain a safe and clean work environment through established procedures and documentation of necessary activities. Mixing and bagging of product as required Loading and unloading trucks Forklift operation Additional projects required or directed by the Production Supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school graduate, with applicable job experience Experience in animal food production and/or manufacturing environment Communication skills with the ability to work with others. Analytical skills with a strong customer service mindset Proficient computer skills. Ability to work 12pm to 8:30pm M-F Strong decision-making skills. Mechanical skills desired Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed, working well in a team environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to bend, stretch, twist and/or reach with your arms and legs. Ability to safely lift objects and/or products, up to 75 lbs. Ability to listen and understand instructions and information and communicate the same. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical equations. Ability to understand complex data, formulations, and information. Ability to interpret information and explain its meaning to others. Ability to stay strong under pressure, evaluating data. Ability to think rationally and portray sound judgment. Ability to drive a forklift and understand safety direction and give instructions. Ability to handle a light dust environment and higher than average noise levels.
Pay:
From $22.00 per hour
