Plastisol Job Summary:
We are looking for a Production Assistant Lead who is eager to coordinate team activity and drive operational excellence in our Plastisol division! This candidate will effectively oversee and direct the work of their department/shift in the mixing and production of Lakeside Plastics products. This is a fast paced and physical position which requires the ability to multi-task. Efficiency, attention to detail, and solid communication skills are essential for this role. The Production Assistant Lead will follow standard work procedures and practices; as well as participate in and enforce safe work habits to ensure an efficient and safe working environment.
Responsibilities/ Tasks:
Communicate and align with Division Supervisor, Production Scheduler, Leads, and Quality regarding production status and any production, mechanical, safety or personnel issues Direct, delegate, and monitor work based on production schedule and available staff to ensure maximum efficiency Oversee and approve all mixing of batches and tests (i.e. viscosity, durometer, weight per gallon, plugs, etc.), and make adjustments (pigments & juice) per customer specifications prior to shipping Enforce operational procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality standards Provide real-time feedback to and coach employees in a respectful and encouraging manner Update Division Supervisor on employee performance including attendance, productivity and safety Appropriately motivate employees to drive efficiency and employee morale Assist in employee evaluations during reviews Monitor and create awareness on inventory levels Follow shutdown procedures for fire pump and electric and gas lines in emergency situation
Requirements:
Perform other duties as assigned 1 year of leadership experience preferred Prior experience in manufacturing or related industry is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills Must be detail oriented and able to work as part of a team Must maintain a high level of confidentiality when involved in personnel matters with Division Supervisor/HR Must have basic computer skills and be able to perform basic calculations Have the ability to squat, bend, twist, work in high places, climb stairs multiple times per shift Able to operate a forklift (Lakeside Certified) Must be able to work in a warehouse type environment with frequent dust and loud noises Excellent attendance is necessary Able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
