JOB SUMMARY
The Production Mentor performs a number of tasks related to the fulfilment of the agency's mission to create meaningful opportunities and community engagement for associates with diverse abilities. The Production Mentor is responsible for leading associates engaged in production work, maintaining quality production and carrying out each associate's individualized work program. This position will work closely with the Production Director to ensure proper production planning, job set-up, scheduling and completion of work assigned.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assign job to workers to meet their goals and abilities
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment
- Teach proper methods of performing job tasks
- Assist workers in the set-up, completion and accounting various vocational tasks according to the standards set by the Case Managers and the Production Team Lead
- Maintain continuous quality control checks to ensure that production standards for products are being met
- Accurately record program activities on individual daily activity record
- Perform special assignment as needed
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency situation
- Apply CPI behavioral intervention techniques
- Carry out material handling responsibilities of production area assigned
- Attend to housekeeping tasks to provide a clean and safe environment
- Fill out injury/seizure reports as needed
- Operate a forklift
REQUIREMENTS
- Attend meetings and trainings regularly
- Report all signs of injury, illness or unusual behavior to Case Managers
- Maintain a friendly and positive attitude throughout the day
- Ability to work at both locations (Neenah and Oshkosh)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and move about for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, pull, push product materials
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to work in an environment without air conditioning
- Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties
