About the
Role:
The 2nd Shift Brake Press Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating brake press machinery to bend and shape metal components with precision and efficiency. This position ensures that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The operator will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to accurately set up and adjust the brake press for each job. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent defects and workplace accidents. Ultimately, this role contributes to the seamless production of metal parts that meet customer specifications and support overall manufacturing goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience operating brake press machinery or similar manufacturing equipment. Basic understanding of mechanical tools and metal fabrication processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in machine operation or metal fabrication. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with shift work. Familiarity with CNC brake press machines. Basic computer skills for logging production data. Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on machinery.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate brake press machinery during the 2nd shift to bend and form metal parts according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine the correct machine settings and sequence of operations. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and report any malfunctions or safety hazards. Monitor the quality of finished products, making adjustments as necessary to maintain compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and maintain a safe working environment.
