JOB DESCRIPTION
About the
Role:
Ironwood Plastics is seeking a hands‑on 1st Shift Production Team Leader to oversee daily production operations, support team development, and drive performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role is responsible for coordinating personnel, equipment, and workflow to meet production goals while fostering a positive, high‑performance culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Lead, coach, and develop production team members. Monitor daily production activities to ensure targets are met. Support and participate in Lean initiatives, 5S, and daily improvement (MDI). Communicate effectively across departments and shifts. Assist with scheduling and resource allocation. Ensure adherence to quality systems, work standards, and safety procedures. Lead problem‑solving efforts and escalate issues when necessary. Maintain accurate labor and performance documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Required:
High school diploma or
GED. 3-6
years of leadership or plastics manufacturing experience (or equivalent). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use ERP systems (IQMS preferred). Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Lean manufacturing experience (5S, 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, Kaizen, etc.). Experience with Standard Work or TWI methodologies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform manual tasks as needed. Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment with moderate noise; climate‑controlled areas. Weekend work may be required based on customer needs.
