Job Description

Quality Control Inspector
  • Medical/Laboratory Instruments 1935 SW Martin Highway, Palm City, FL 34990 From $17 an hour

Full-time SUMMARY:
Perform Quality Control procedures on medical/laboratory instruments, in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follows specific procedures using assigned equipment to perform final inspection and test of finished goods prior to shipment in a timely manner.
  • Reviews shipping schedule to prioritize work load.
  • Performs duties with speed and accuracy as required to keep pace with work schedule.
  • Completes and maintains accurate documentation for each instrument in an organized and orderly fashion.
  • Maintains certain test equipment calibration (such as TRACI).
  • Calibrates instruments according to specification.
  • Connects unit to be tested to test equipment and performs appropriate tests.
  • Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, capacitance, etc.
  • Compares results with specifications and records test data, or plots test results on graph.
  • Records defects on Instrument Traveler attached to unit and returns unit to Test Department for repair.
  • Confers with the QC Team Lead and/or Production Manager & Managing Director regarding testing procedures, results, and to resolve problems.
  • Inspects units for paint defects or other cosmetic defects.
  • Maintains an orderly department and keeps incoming and outgoing instruments separated.

EXPERIENCE
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent education with 2+ years' experience in manufacturing environment desired
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and interpret documents; must be able to communicate effectively with others.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Must have an aptitude for mathematics and science
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and find solutions
