North Chicago, Illinois job type: Contract salary: $40.00 - 44.05 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelors responsibilities: Executing routine and complex wet lab tasks to extract high-quality nucleic acids from cells, tissues, and biofluids. Performing nucleic acid quality control including fluorescence quantification, absorbance, and integrity analysis. Analyzing and interpreting QC data to inform downstream workflows and annotate sample quality. Documenting experimental setups, processing notes, and QC data within a LIMS and other reporting systems. Maintaining and troubleshooting wet lab instrumentation used for extraction and quality control. Supporting sample management duties including receipt, reconciliation, and biobank storage.

qualifications:

Required Skills:

BS in Genetics, Genomics, or related field with 2+ years of experience OR MS in Genetics/Genomics with 1+ years of experience. Practical expertise in nucleic acid extraction workflows from diverse source materials (blood, tissue, etc.). Proficiency in nucleic acid QC techniques and data interpretation. Mastery of micropipetting techniques and accurate laboratory measurements. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Ability to strictly adhere to SOPs and documentation guidelines in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with low/high-throughput LIMS and data management. Experience operating or maintaining automated laboratory platforms. Background in CLIA-certified or regulated laboratory environments.
