Weekend Quality Control Specialist
  • OilsCreams Full Time:
    Friday
  • Sunday, 7:00am to 7:30pm About the Role The Quality Control Specialist for OilsCreams at Jetpack Shipping is responsible for ensuring the consistency, safety, and compliance of our oil and cream based product lines.
This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality standards across raw materials, production processes, and finished goods. You will work closely with manufacturing, R&D, and regulatory teams to ensure all products meet internal specifications, customer expectations, and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Raw MaterialIn-Process Testing Inspect and test oils, butters, and cream bases upon receipt. Conduct in process checks during blending, emulsification, and filling operations. Monitor viscosity, pH, stability, and sensory attributes to ensure consistency. Finished Product Verification Perform final product testing, including appearance, texture, odor, and packaging integrity. Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and ensure conformity to product specifications. Approve or reject finished products based on quality standards. ComplianceDocumentation Maintain accurate testing records and batch documentation in compliance with GMP and FDA/ISO requirements. Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Ensure proper labeling compliance for oils, creams, and cosmetic products. InvestigationsContinuous Improvement Identify, document, and investigate deviations or non-conformances. Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes. Recommend process improvements to enhance product stability and shelf life. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with production staff to troubleshoot quality issues during manufacturing. Provide training on quality control procedures and product handling. Partner with R&D to validate new product formulations and scaling processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, Quality Assurance, or related field, or equivalent experience. 2+ years of experience in quality control or manufacturing within cosmetics, personal care, or nutraceutical industries. Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant FDA, ISO, or cosmetic regulatory standards. Hands on experience with physical and chemical testing of emulsions, oils, and topical formulations. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Familiarity with stability testing, microbiological testing, and shelf-life validation. Experience with ERP/eQMS systems for quality data tracking. Knowledge of HACCP or
ISO 22716
(Cosmetics GMP) standards. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Current location is in Tallmadge, but the department is moving to Akron Quality Control Specialist
