Job Description
Quality Assurance Specialist - Final & In‑Process Inspection About the Organization A global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of innovative medical devices that support critical care, emergency response, and patient safety. Position Summary The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for performing in‑process and final inspections of medical device products to ensure conformance with specifications, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, supporting manufacturing operations, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO standards. Essential Functions Perform in‑process and final inspections across all product lines to ensure conformance with inspection procedures, specifications, and engineering drawings Conduct visual inspections and functional testing of components and assemblies in production Verify calibration status of critical inspection and test equipment Initiate Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) for nonconforming material and collaborate with Manufacturing to contain impacted product Perform thorough Device History Record (DHR) reviews prior to product lot release Maintain and accurately record inspection and testing results as part of the DHR Support evaluation of customer complaints, retained samples, and returned products as required Process product returns according to established quality procedures Prepare and manage retain samples for storage Train and mentor employees on in‑process and final inspection procedures Assist in directing daily activities of Final Quality Control Inspectors as needed Review, compile, and prepare monthly quality metrics Conduct periodic audits and facility walk‑throughs to ensure compliance with SOPs and SIPs Ensure strict adherence to quality procedures, GMP, and ISO standards Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety regulations Complete all assigned tasks within established guidelines and timelines Support continuous improvement initiatives and the elimination of waste in processes and methods Work effectively in a team environment, multitask efficiently, and communicate clearly Required Skills Final inspection Document and record review Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required 2-3 years of experience in a related quality, inspection, or manufacturing role required , or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking) Skilled in the use of rulers, calipers, and mechanical and electrical measurement and test equipment Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office and inspection-related software systems Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, and engineering drawings; basic blueprint reading required Strong working knowledge of GMP and ISO standards Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to prioritize work and exercise judgment with minimal supervision Proven ability to resolve issues and make sound quality-related recommendations Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Palm Springs, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
