Job Description

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing products, and recording and analyzing results gathered during product development and production. They work to ensure that production or manufacturing processes and products created meet the quality specifications that are laid down by the company. The main objective of the Quality Control Inspectors is to ensure the quality of the product meets both the company's and customers' standards. Quality control must report any problem to the Production Manager, all while following company work and safety procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Test materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable customer and company standards. Quality Control Inspectors test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. Ensure there is quality testing all the tie; carry out inspections to meet the standard set by the organization. Focus on corrective actions in order to make sure products meet required specifications. Collect regular samples for analysis at the laboratory. Work with the Quality Control Supervisor regarding specific details relating to product information and production. Ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly and call for repairs where equipment is faulty. Approve finished products for onward shipment to the customer. Work with management to ensure that only quality products are produced. Find solutions to customer complaints and feedback. Remove bad products that are discovered during the production process. Monitor every stage of production to avoid product defects. Write reports and submit a copy to management. Record test results as required. Conduct proper assessment of suppliers when needed. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any direct reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience in line inspection or other related work, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Computer skills required:
Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams Ability to manage files and records effectively.
Other skills required:
Excellent problem-solving abilities. In-depth understanding of chemical composition, structure, properties of different substances, and the understanding of chemical reactions. Thorough understanding of methods and processes involved in manufacturing. Aptitude for math and knowledge about measurement and test equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization. Organizational skills and attention to detail; must be able to follow instructions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to operate laboratory testing equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job. This position will be located in a production shop floor and quality lab environment and may be required to work 1st, 2nd, 3rd or other designated shift hours. Overtime may also be required based on business conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is moderate with occasional loud noise. Frequently required to talk, hear, walk, sit, and stand. Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Continually works near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles or toxic chemicals. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Perform job functions in a safe manner. Wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by Company policy for the job being performed. Know and follow established job-specific and facility wide safety and health procedures and rules. Actively participate in safety and health training and demonstrate competency based on training received. Brings safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those you can upon observation.
