As a Quality Assurance Lead within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Birmingham, AL; or Dallas, TX Overview Operating in a global delivery model, the QA Lead provides strategic direction for testing and serves as a subject matter expert for both the quality discipline and supported line of business domain(s). This role is accountable for embedding quality as a core focus throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring testing is planned early, executed effectively, and aligned with organizational standards, regulatory expectations, and business objectives. Duties and Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for testing across the product lifecycle, ensuring appropriate prioritization, coverage, and sign off of testing activities Serve as the subject matter expert for quality engineering practices and domain specific workflows within a global delivery model Lead the review and approval of testing artifacts, including test strategies, test plans, scripts, and test results Coordinate test strategy development, test scripting, execution, and defect resolution efforts across teams Ensure early engagement with internal partners to embed quality considerations early in the product lifecycle Take accountability for quality standards across the development, implementation, and maintenance of test assets and automation solutions Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage and testing efficiency Develop meaningful management metrics to gauge project health, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement across releases Proactively assess risks and ensure quality outcomes align with enterprise governance and compliance expectations Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Strong foundation in software testing methodologies and product development lifecycle (PDLC) practices Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating testing initiatives Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Required Experience Experience leading testing initiatives for medium to large scale projects Hands on experience formulating and executing quality strategies Experience writing and maintaining Test Strategies and Test Summary Reports Strong experience working closely with BSAs, Product Owners, Project Managers, and Engineering teams Experience identifying risks, defining contingencies, and communicating quality impacts to stakeholders Proven ability to align quality efforts with team objectives and organizational goals Leverage strong expertise in Java, Selenium, Cucumber, Karate, and API testing to drive automation maturity Preferred Qualifications Experience operating within a global delivery or distributed team model in a banking domain Strong ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across cross functional teams Experience working in regulated or compliance driven environments Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing QA/QE team members Preferred Experience Leading quality efforts across multiple applications or business domains Driving early quality engagement and shift left testing practices Developing and evolving testing standards, frameworks, and best practices Partnering across lines of business to ensure changes do not negatively impact downstream systems Day-to-Day Activities Attend Scrum ceremonies and actively participate in planning, refinement, and retrospectives Communicate testing progress, risks, and blockers, and propose resolution strategies Work closely with testers to develop test cases and assess test execution results Review user stories to ensure test execution aligns with defined acceptance criteria Assist team members by removing blockers and providing guidance as needed Collaborate with team members on test automation and provide constructive feedback Coordinate with other lines of business to ensure changes do not introduce unintended impacts Motivate and mentor team members, fostering pride in quality outcomes and continuous growth Ensure teams clearly understand quality expectations and what is required to deliver secure, high quality releases PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. Pay Transparency Base Salary:
$55,000.00 - $125,350.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
