Negotiation Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Director of Quality plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the company maintains its reputation for delivering quality products that meet the highest quality standards while ensuring Operational functions understand, follow, and improve functional processes ensuring compliance of AS9120B/ASA100 and Unical QMS. This position leads and reinforces all aspects of quality, operations, and other functions, ensuring the company's QMS meets all regulatory, customer, company, Part 145, and both ISO 9001 and AS9120/ASA100
requirements. Primary Responsibilities :
4 direct reports and multiple indirect reports through functional matrix organization. Defines and promotes the quality mindset across the organization and all sites. Manages UAI, 145
Quality functions working with cross-functional leadership to deliver high quality products on schedule and any need to include Miami office, UK office, or UK warehouse. Ensuring that Unical meets all federal, state, and local safety and environmental requirements. Improves, enhances, and maintains quality system to ensure company's facilities, equipment, personnel, methods, processes, and procedures conform to internal guidelines, regulatory standards, and customer requirements and contractors such as B&H. Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards. Establishes standards and processes for the disposition of NC material. Ensures product quality documentation and records system by ensuring quality assurance procedures are written and updated, as necessary. Leads and ensures all aspects of quality and operational technical training for and 145 is carried out meeting all regulatory and company requirements. Responsible for technical training for all aspects of Quality and Training for UAI, 145.
Adheres to EHS safety protocols and is responsible for creating, cultivating, and driving a culture of Continuous Improvement and both Quality and Operational Excellence. Leads and develops quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks. Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Instrumental in removing barriers, solving problems, and executing a complex operating dynamic. Acts as quality subject matter expert for Quality matters, Quality tasks and escalations, either directly or through direct/indirect staff. Ensure Customer satisfaction in terms of safety, services, costs of ownership and performance. Leads quality department to meet company goals and objectives. Oversee the interface with customers, FAA, and other regulatory agencies with respect to Quality. Leads and ensures internal audits, regulatory audits, and customer audits are carried out; any NCs are managed per requirements. Define the metrics measuring performance:
customer satisfaction, internal checking process, supplier performance. Trains teams to the Quality principles, the Quality System , and the applicable Quality tools. Develops Site Quality culture through all the activities of the sites by: Encouraging quality first mentality in everything we do Promoting adequate behaviors to help each site member promote and instill quality. Provide status reports and metric updates to the COO and ELT. Serves as Management Representative for obtaining and maintaining quality certifications (ISO 9001/AS9120/ASA100) in addition to Part 145 and C.A.S.E requirements. Overall responsibility for non-conforming parts and RMA processing Ensures compliance training for all agents acting on behalf of Unical. Exhibits strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills while leading the Quality Assurance department toward company goals and objectives. Additional Responsibilities:
Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, systems, and workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations across various departments with a focus on fulfillment, logistics, and customer service/engagement. Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, finance, and technology, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities with overall business objectives. Other duties as assigned. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Solid knowledge of Quality and Operational principles and tools, including audit techniques Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Project Management, Visio, Excel, Word, and Outlook) In-depth understanding and knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001/ASA100
Quality Management System and Part 145 Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication Strong leadership and team management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills. Education:
Bachelor's/Master's Degree preferred or equivalent demonstrated work experience in Quality and/or Operations. Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in Quality Assurance, Part 145, Warehouse Operations, Aerospace. At least 10 years of experience leading a team in management, with a proven track record of improving product quality and customer satisfaction. Licensure/Certifications:
Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt) preferred. ISO 9001
Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification preferred. ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) preferred. OSHA safety training or certification desirable in manufacturing environments Working knowledge of regulatory compliance standards applicable to industry requirements (FDA, ISO, AS9100, ASA100, IATF 16949, etc.) Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
