Job Title:
Quality Control Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Control Manager to lead and support our QC team. In this role, you will be instrumental in planning, coaching, mentoring, and providing hands-on technical guidance. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving out-of-specification (OOS) and atypical results, as well as developing, maintaining, and improving QC procedures and product specifications. This position requires collaboration with quality assurance, ensuring compliance, and supporting cost-saving initiatives. Responsibilities Lead and support QC staff through planning, coaching, mentoring, and providing technical guidance. Investigate and resolve out-of-specification (OOS) and atypical results. Develop, maintain, and improve QC procedures, test methods, and product specifications. Support cost-saving initiatives and QC efficiency improvements. Plan, execute, and support instrument qualification and analytical method validation activities. Ensure all QC activities are conducted and documented in compliance with requirements. Review and approve final inspection results, data analyses, and spectral interpretations. Collaborate with QA on product investigations, designing and performing supplemental testing or analytics as needed. Ensure timely execution and documentation of preventive maintenance and instrument calibration. Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate responses. Support QC inspections and audits, maintaining continuous audit readiness through routine walkthroughs and compliance checks. Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and drive continuous improvement. Provide ongoing mentorship and development support to direct reports, including performance management, career development, and succession planning. Participate in cleanup activities following safety procedures. Essential Skills 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in injection or blow molding. Proficient in quality control and manufacturing processes. Experience with documentation and collaboration with Quality Assurance. Knowledge of
FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA, GR&R, DMAIC, GDP, DOE.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality Management. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Work Environment The Quality Control Manager will report to the Head of Operations and supervise QC Supervisors for in-process and final inspection. The role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, requiring effective communication through established channels. The position supports both internal and external audits, ensuring continuous audit readiness. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
