The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all site-level quality operations at the Costa Mesa facility. This role ensures adherence to global quality standards, drives performance against key quality metrics, and leads a team of Quality Control Inspectors to deliver consistent, high-quality results. This position plays a critical role in protecting the Huish Outdoors brand by ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and fostering a culture of quality and accountability. Key Responsibilities Own and deliver site-level quality KPIs, including inspection accuracy, turnaround time, defect rates, and compliance Drive a results-oriented culture and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed performance targets Manage and prioritize QA team workload to ensure timely and accurate execution of all quality activities Lead and oversee all inspection activities (incoming, in-process, and final) to ensure adherence to product specifications and standards Maintain ownership of quality systems, including documentation, reporting, and Non-Conforming Material (NCMR) processes Ensure consistent execution of inspection plans and quality procedures across the site Lead implementation and sustainment of ISO 9001
2015 standards and ensure audit readiness Support internal and external audits and drive closure of findings and corrective actions Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions for quality issues Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve processes, efficiency, and product quality Oversee measurement systems, including GD&T application and use of Keyence and Mitutoyo equipment Ensure calibration and maintenance processes for inspection equipment are followed Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Control Inspectors, including performance management and skill development Provide guidance on quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices Promote a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company procedures and regulatory requirements Maintain job knowledge through ongoing training and industry best practices Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field and 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field (or Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience) 2+ years of people management or leadership experience Expert knowledge of ISO 9001
2015 standards and quality management systems Strong understanding of GD&T principles and quality inspection methodologies Demonstrated ability to drive results and meet performance targets in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools Strong organizational and prioritization skills with high attention to detail Effective communication skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback Ability to lead in environments with evolving processes and limited standardization Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution Preferred Experience with Keyence and Mitutoyo CMM / profiler systems Experience supporting or leading ISO audits and certification processes Experience with ERP or Quality Management Systems Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification Experience in outdoor or technical product manufacturing environments Physical RequirementsWork Environment Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including in production environments Occasional work in tight or confined spaces Regular use of hands for handling equipment and small objects Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs Visual acuity including close, distance, color, and depth perception Ability to work on a computer for extended periods
