H9 Talent Solutions are partnering with a company aiming to become the Tesla of RVs - a Series C start-up in Fremont, CA, building the first fully electric luxury trailer with solar, battery power, and AI features. Manager of Manufacturing Quality role - you'll own the end-to-end quality strategy, build systems from scratch, manage a team of engineers, and work directly with global suppliers including China-based contract manufacturers. On-site 5 days/week in Fremont. Role We are looking for a Manager of Manufacturing Quality Engineering with 7+ years of experience to lead and build the quality engineering function at a fast-growing EV start-up. You'll own the end-to-end quality strategy across assembly and production operations, manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors, and partner with global suppliers - particularly in China. This is a backfill for a vacant role, and the Head of Manufacturing needs this person urgently to take over supplier quality calls and build the quality infrastructure from the ground up. Building quality management systems, control plans, and inspection processes from scratch - IQC, IPQC, and end-of-line (EOL) frameworks that don't currently exist Managing a team of 2+ quality engineers and inspectors, setting standards, and driving accountability across the quality function Owning global supplier quality relationships, including regular evening calls (5-8pm PT) with Chinese contract manufacturers and suppliers Leading root cause investigations, MRB meetings, CAPAs, and SCARs to drive continuous improvement across production Partnering cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, and Production leadership to ensure quality is built into every stage - not just inspected at the end Tech Stack Quality Management Systems (QMS), FMEA, SPC, GD&T, DoE, IQC/IPQC/OQC frameworks, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, MRB processes, CAPA/SCAR
