This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and the operational expertise to translate vision into documented, scalable systems. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has a proven track record of building quality infrastructure where little or none previously existed. This role is critical to our organization's growth and product integrity. You will own the end-to-end quality lifecycle — from incoming raw materials through final product release — while building the team, policies, and culture that support long-term operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Quality Systems & Process Development Architect, document, and continuously improve the company's end-to-end QA/QC framework Author and maintain SOPs, work instructions, inspection criteria, and quality policies for all manufacturing processes Develop and own the document control system to ensure version integrity and traceability Establish and manage a robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) system Incoming Materials & Supplier Quality Design and oversee incoming inspection processes for all raw materials, components, and purchased parts Define acceptance criteria and rejection protocols in collaboration with Procurement and Engineering Develop a supplier scorecard and performance review process to drive upstream quality Manage material holds, rejections, and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) Outgoing Product Quality Establish final product inspection standards, release criteria, and certificate of conformance (COC) processes Implement in-process quality controls and statistical process control (SPC) tools as appropriate Oversee disposition of non-conforming finished goods and coordinate RMA and customer complaint processes Drive reduction of defect rates, scrap, and rework through root cause analysis and process improvements Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead, mentor, and grow the QA team as headcount scales Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations leadership to embed quality into daily production workflows Serve as the internal subject matter expert for all matters related to quality, compliance, and inspection Present quality performance data, trends, and initiative updates to senior leadership on a regular cadence Qualifications Required 5+ years of progressive quality assurance/quality control experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience building or rebuilding a QA/QC department or management system from scratch Proven ability to author SOPs, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality policies Hands-on experience overseeing both incoming material inspection and outgoing product release processes Strong knowledge of quality management tools: CAPA, NCR, FMEA, root cause analysis, SPC, and/or 8D Track record of success in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment with shifting priorities Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without losing momentum Strong communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and present to executive leadership Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent certification Familiarity with
ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF
