Vernon, CA Schedule:
Day Shift (4:00 AM - 1:00 PM, earlier start and weekend flexibility as needed)
Salary:
$85,000 - $100,000 Position Summary Camino Real Foods, producer of Tina's Burritos, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead daily food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities in our USDA-inspected frozen food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for supervising Quality Control Technicians, ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, GMP, USDA, and FDA requirements, supporting audits and inspections, investigating quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has experience managing food safety systems while developing high-performing quality teams. Essential Responsibilities Supervise and develop Quality Control Technicians across assigned shifts. Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, SQF, Food Defense, and sanitation requirements. Monitor production processes and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications and food safety standards. Investigate quality concerns, consumer complaints, and non-conformances using root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies. Support internal audits, SQF audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections. Partner with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality and food safety issues. Verify effectiveness of allergen controls, traceability systems, pest control programs, sanitation procedures, and product release activities. Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting related to food safety and quality programs. Train and coach employees on GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety, and quality procedures. Assist in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects, improving compliance, and increasing operational effectiveness. Support environmental monitoring, laboratory testing, metal detector verification, and product hold/release programs. Promote a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility. Qualifications Required 3-5+ years of Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in food manufacturing. 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience working in USDA and/or FDA regulated environments. Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, Food Safety Programs, and regulatory compliance. Experience participating in
SQF, BRC, FSSC
22000, or similar GFSI-certified systems. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. Bilingual English/Spanish. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Engineering, or related field. HACCP Certification. PCQI Certification. SQF Practitioner experience. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing stairs. Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen production environments. Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial production equipment.
