Job Description

Overview Based in Ontario, California, Comext Nutrition Inc. is a premier wholesale distributor of high-quality ingredients for the dietary supplement industries. We pride ourselves on bridging the gap between global manufacturers and local brands by ensuring the highest standards of safety, purity, and regulatory compliance. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to lead our compliance efforts and represent our company during regulatory inspections.
Responsibilities Inspection Readiness:
Serve as the lead coordinator for onsite inspections by the FDA and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Documentation Management:
Proactively request and manage updated technical documents from suppliers. Review and organize Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Third-Party Lab Reports, and Specification Sheets for all incoming raw materials.
Supplier Qualification:
Conduct thorough evaluations of foreign suppliers' food safety history and compliance status; review third-party audits and onsite inspection records.
SOP Development:
Write, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect current operational and regulatory requirements.
FSVP Management & Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) to ensure all imported dietary ingredients meet U.S. safety and cGMP standards.
CAPA & Investigations:
Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and handle any product quality complaints or non-conformance reports.
Warehouse Oversight:
Perform periodic facility walkthroughs to ensure sanitation and storage protocols are strictly followed. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 1+ year(s) of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within the dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical industry. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred.
Certification:
PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) or FSVP Qualified Individual certification is highly preferred. Familiarity with FSMA, HACCP, or cGMP regulations. Strong professional English communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with government officials and preparing technical reports. Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing preventative measures.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
