CEO Position Overview The Quality Manager leads and continuously improves the company's quality processes, procedures, and systems, ensuring compliance with AS9100, ITAR, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as the primary quality interface for customers, overseeing audits, managing corrective actions, and ensuring alignment on product quality expectations. The Quality Manager will work cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering to drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and audit readiness while supporting successful product launches and ongoing production compliance. This position plays a key role in strengthening system effectiveness, maintaining high product quality standards, and reinforcing strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Quality Management System (QMS) Ownership
  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and all applicable standards Develop, issue, and control quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and records
  • Ensure processes are documented, implemented, and continuously improved
  • Monitor and report on quality system metrics (audit findings, CAPA, process adherence) Audits & Compliance
  • Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits (prep, execution, follow-up)
  • Manage internal audit program, including training auditors and scheduling audits
  • Ensure audit readiness across departments (documentation, calibration, traceability)
  • Maintain audit records demonstrating compliance with AS9100 and ITAR Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure process consistency
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to reduce variation and improve quality
  • Provide data-driven recommendations based on trends and nonconformances
  • Align QMS initiatives with company and customer objectives Documentation & Control
  • Oversee document control system (revision control, traceability, change management)
  • Ensure records, inspection data, and certifications are accurate and accessible
  • Support configuration management and documentation consistency Training & Leadership
  • Train and mentor internal auditors, quality staff, and process owners
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Support cross-functional teams with corrective actions and process improvements
  • Provide visibility into quality performance metrics and trends Metrics & Reporting
  • Track and report key quality metrics (audit results, CAPA, NCR rates, etc.)
  • Communicate performance and compliance status to leadership
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement and system effectiveness Customer Quality & Satisfaction
  • Serve as the primary quality interface for customers
  • Lead customer audits and manage quality concerns (8D, SCAR, root cause analysis)
  • Support product launches and ongoing production (FAI, PPM, OTD metrics)
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to mitigate risk and strengthen relationships Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
  • 7+ years of quality management experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of
AS9100, ISO
9001, ITAR, and regulatory standards
  • Proven experience leading audits (internal, customer, third-party)
  • Familiarity with QMS software and ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred)
  • Strong understanding of quality tools (FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, CAPA, PPAP)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to train and develop cross-functional teams
