Job Description

Overview This position works under a
USDA/FDA
regulated environment reporting to the QA Manager. You will be responsible for supporting the QA Manager in ensuring and managing the quality assurance of the plant's food safety program. The environment is hot/cold, refrigerated, and production based. Responsible for enforcing and promoting food quality and safety. The position will provide support during inspections and audits by regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA), customers, and third-party agencies. Responsibilities
  • This position is responsible for leading the food safety practices and procedures on equipment assigned to you and to manage periodic inspection, self-assessment, and corrective actions.
  • You will provide day to day support on activities within your identified work area and equipment and assure that HACCP and practices relevant to those activities, such as General Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), are effectively implemented to protect the quality of food.
Qualifications Minimum 2 years of food safety or quality assurance experience in a USDA/FDA-regulated food manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and food safety regulatory requirements. Experience supporting regulatory, customer, and third-party audits. Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. HACCP Certification preferred. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to work in refrigerated, hot, and cold manufacturing environments and lift up to 40 pounds. Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb stairs, work in confined spaces, and around plant equipment in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach (must have manual dexterity in both hands); must use protective clothing, safety equipment and lift up to 40 lbs to chest height.
  • Ability to distinguish color and use color codes.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments for over eight (8) hours in a day.
  • Ability to work in a freezer environment for short durations of time.
Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour
