About the Company A premier, world-class manufacturer of high-precision components and complex subassemblies for the global aerospace and defense markets. Established for over 40 years, they have evolved from a specialized R D firm into a mission-critical production partner for both civil and military aviation. Their flight-critical components are currently utilized on approximately 75% of aircraft in operation today, supporting major platforms ranging from commercial jetliners to advanced stealth defense programs. Their components are integral to roughly 75% of aircraft currently in operation , supporting legendary platforms like the Boeing 737, F-18 Hornet, and the B-2 Stealth Bomber. With a reputation for tackling the most complex manufacturing challenges in the industry, they offer a stable, high-tech environment for a Quality leader who thrives on precision and rigorous industry standards. Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality system programs for a stable, high-volume aerospace manufacturing partner. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining a QMS that meets AS9100 and AS13100 standards, ensuring full compliance with customer-specific requirements and long-term agreements.
Key Responsibilities QMS Leadership:
Serve as the Management Representative; maintain the Quality Manual, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions in alignment with AS9100.Compliance & Auditing:
Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external quality audits. Ensure all activities comply with AS/ISO operating procedures.Corrective Action:
Drive Preventive/Corrective Actions (CAPA), Quality Notifications (QN), and Non-conforming Material Requests (NCR).Documentation:
Oversee the creation and support ofFAIR & APQP
documentation. Manage MRB, NMRs, and monthly quality reporting.Operational Support:
Manage the calibration of all inspection equipment and support Lean manufacturing initiatives.Cross-Functional Liaison:
Coordinate between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure quality metrics and KPIs are met.Requirements Experience:
5-10 years of Management or Quality Engineering experience specifically within the Aerospace sector.Technical Standards:
Proven expertise in AS9100 and AS13100 (Aero Engine Production Parts).Logistics:
Must be able to travel regularly between facilities in San Diego (92126) and Los Angeles (91706) .Physical/Mental:
Ability to lift 40 lbs. and manage the high-pressure demands of a busy manufacturing environment.Education/Certifications:
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a significant plus. #INDER Pay:
