This position is responsible for overseeing quality processes across laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, assembly, and final inspection, while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, and ISO standards. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with production teams to solve manufacturing quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001 and company standards. Oversee Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final/Outgoing Quality Control (FQC/OQC). Monitor manufacturing processes. Review and investigate quality defects, including dimensional issues, weld defects, cosmetic defects, coating failures, and assembly problems. Manage customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Lead non-conforming material control, including quarantine, rework, rejection, scrap analysis, and corrective actions. Monitor and improve quality metrics. Perform and support internal audits and customer audits. Manage supplier quality performance and work with vendors to resolve quality issues. Ensure calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, fixtures, and measuring tools. Train inspectors and production personnel on quality standards and inspection procedures. Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and management teams to improve product quality and manufacturing consistency. Prepare quality reports and participate in production and management meetings.
Qualification Required:
Minimum 5 years of quality experience in sheet metal fabrication, metal manufacturing, welding, or related industries. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
Experience with customer audits and supplier audits. Internal auditor certification. Experience with US manufacturing customers.
Pay:
$40.00 - $55.00 per hour
