Job Description
Responsibilities Mission Assurance Leadership:
Oversee mission assurance activities, including: Defining quality and reliability standards, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Provide independent Mission Assurance oversite for program execution throughout the program lifecycle. Lead program Failure Review Boards. Support non-conformance process and material review boardsRisk Identification and Mitigation:
Identify potential risks in design, development, and operational phases; develop and execute risk mitigation plans and support Risk and Opportunity Boards as a voting member or risk manager (familiarity with DoDI ROI-2023-2-2 orNASA/SP-2011-3422
preferred).Process Improvement:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance through data-driven analysis and corrective action processes.Compliance and Standards:
Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g.MIL-STD-882, ISO 9001, AS9100
) and customer-specific requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to integrate mission assurance and safety principles into all phases of the project lifecycle. Work with design assurance; reliability, EEE parts, radiation and M&P to meet program requirements and needs.Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain mission assurance plans, safety reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication skills written and verbal. Presentation experience is required.Audits and Reviews:
Conduct and support internal/external audits, design reviews, and safety assessments to verify compliance and performance. Ideal Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program Management, or equivalent technical/operational field. 8+ years of experience in Program or Risk Management, Mission Assurance, Quality, System Safety, or similar roles involving risk, compliance, and cross functional coordination. Experience managing complex programs in regulated or high reliability industries (aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, energy, or technology). Experience leading cross functional teams and influencing technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Familiarity with structured risk processes, safety frameworks, or root-cause methodologies (FMEA, FTA, FRACAS preferred). Ability to quickly learn aerospace standards and adapt mission assurance practices to new technical domains. Must be willing to travel as required - 25%. US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations. Desired Skills Adaptability, and ability to work and lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be skilled in educating and influencing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. Pay Range $130,000 - $190,000 How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy) Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
