Position Location New London, CT Job Type Full Time Remote Type Onsite Salary $110,000 - $130,000 per year Job Description Join Our Team! RCC is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the implementation and oversight of our Project Quality Management Program across heavy civil construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that all work meets contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain quality systems; conduct audits and inspections; coordinate with project teams and third-party agencies; and drive continuous improvement to ensure the highest level of quality throughout all phases of construction.
Responsibilities:
Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Management System (QMS) Develop and oversee project-specific Quality Plans and Inspection & Testing Plans (ITPs) Ensure compliance with contract drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards Conduct internal quality audits and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers Manage and coordinate third-party inspection and testing agencies Monitor and control subcontractor and supplier quality performance Identify, document, and resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner Collaborate with project teams to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement Perform field inspections and testing as needed Requirements To be considered, preferred applicants should present the following: B.S. or M.S. in Engineering from a U.S.-accredited college or university (Civil Engineering preferred; related degrees will be considered) Minimum of 8 years of experience in the heavy construction industry, including a combination of field inspection, construction/construction management, and quality control experience relevant to the project scope Quality-related certifications such as NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist or an approved equivalent (e.g., ASQ, ISO 9001 Lead Quality Auditor) Demonstrated experience implementing Quality Management Systems, project-specific Quality Plans, and Inspection & Testing Plans Strong ability to read and interpret contract drawings and technical specifications Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively resolve quality-related issues Experience conducting internal quality audits and performing subcontractor/supplier evaluations Ability to self-perform physical inspections and testing (e.g., structural bolting) as required Proven ability to manage subcontractor/supplier quality and oversee third-party inspection and testing agencies Benefits We are proud to offer the following benefits to our employees: Medical and Dental Coverage 401k with Employer Match Vacation and Holiday ESOP Long Term Disability Group Life Insurance Bonus Program Tuition Reimbursement Ready to join our team?
