Job Description Ulbrich Shaped Wire is seeking a Quality Manager who is looking for an exciting opportunity with an industry leader in the metals field. The Quality Manager will review and vet quotes from sales and input/revise routings in Axiom, verify nuclear orders are being processed in accordance to the "Process Plan" as needed, perform material testing, direct and manage testing activities, provide feedback to Sales on technical questions regarding quotes, and drive implementation of quality improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(The essential duties and responsibilities listed below are not all encompassing. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned consistent with business requirements.) Maintain a complete understanding of Axiom to ensure quotes, routings and certification; Drive cross-training initiatives in the Quality department; Supervise Quality Coordinator to ensure integrity of USW Laboratory testing documentation; Ensure Nuclear orders documentation; Perform final testing on orders prior to shipment; Provides support in the development of standard process and testing procedures/methods; Provides support to sales and manufacturing; Maintains the measurement systems calibration program and records; Assist in validating customer claims; Performs job duties within the requirements define by the USW Quality Management System; Ensure that Quality audits are being carried out as planned; Report to upper management on quality metrics. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in technical discipline or operational management or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum of 5 years broad experience within quality assurance, or quality engineering environment within the metal processing industry; Ability to work collaboratively on cross functional initiatives in order to meet customer needs; Extensive knowledge, metals properties, processing methods, industry standards, manufacturing processes and principles; Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills; Ability to read, write and problem solve and perform advanced math calculations, such as geometry, algebra and trigonometry; Ability to work from complicated blueprints, specifications and schematic diagrams; Demonstrated ability to use reason and judgment in the planning and execution of responsibilities.
