Job Description

Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in manufacturing construction chemicals and building materials — including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. We are currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join our plant operations team. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating Quality Control laboratory activities, supporting product quality and safety, and providing leadership to Quality Control Technicians while ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Plant Quality Control laboratory according to direction from the Quality Control Manager. Communicate immediately with Operators, Supervisors, and Management regarding any quality, safety, or compliance concerns. Supervise Quality Control employees, including organizing work activities, assigning tasks, providing training, and overseeing performance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Provide training to Quality Control staff on testing methods; ensure correct application, repeatability, and consistency of testing procedures. Examine laboratory work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to established policies and procedures; recommend and implement corrective actions as needed. Assist the Quality Control Manager with special projects and initiatives to maintain high product quality. Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and coordinate workflow to support operational needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, ensuring proper identification, storage, and handling of ingredients, supplies, and products. Adhere to OSHA standards and MAPEI's internal Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs; observe and enforce safe work practices and PPE requirements. Support teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication across departments. Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements. Qualifications Prior experience in a Quality Control laboratory or manufacturing environment; supervisory or lead experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of testing methods, raw materials, product reactivity, and laboratory best practices. College degree or technical education preferred.
Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and guide others. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to analyze data and resolve complex issues. Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools, including control charts, standard deviation, Cpk, and trend analysis. Proficiency with general laboratory equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work in a Windows-based computer environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings. Ability to frequently lift up to 55 lbs. independently.
