This position is responsible for optimizing product quality and plant performance. The role will define and implement short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to meet customer quality requirements at optimum cost while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.
Comp range:
$100 - $125k Bonus potential: up to 20% Responsibilities Set Quality department goals and objectives aligned with plant performance targets and engineering principles Ensure all safety rules and practices are understood, implemented, and followed by Quality staff and contractors Define, monitor, and optimize Quality department expenses Ensure adherence to internal standards, norms, and best practices Lead development of Quality processes to improve operations and support employee development Maintain and update Quality System documentation in alignment with the Quality Assurance System (QAS) Ensure production targets, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements are met Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System Investigate deviations in test results and product specifications; recommend corrective actions Report nonconformities and implement corrective and preventive actions Manage relationships with certification and auditing agencies for product approval and certification Specify, commission, and qualify new laboratory equipment Develop and maintain quality control plans for all stages of production Establish raw material, fuel, intermediate, and finished product specifications Ensure compliance with quality procedures across all production stages Support product development and collaborate with marketing and sales teams on new product specifications Ensure testing procedures are established for new products Supervise Quality personnel including Lab Chemists and QC Supervisors Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent foreign degree Minimum 7 years of experience in quality control and process roles within the cement manufacturing industry Supervisory or managerial experience required Strong mathematical and analytical skills Experience with process improvement in cement manufacturing Experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills Knowledge of
ASTM C150
standards and cement industry specifications Advanced knowledge of ISO 9000 and
ISO 14000
standards Experience with
ISO 17025
implementation, auditing, and accreditation (ILAC-recognized bodies) Knowledge of uncertainty calculations under
ISO 17025
Understanding of cement manufacturing processes and equipment Experience with commissioning and implementation of plant equipment projects Experience with specialty cements (White Cement, Well Cements
ISO 10426
) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Bilingual in English and Spanish required #PRO123
