This role is responsible for driving quality initiatives across production operations, overseeing inspection activities, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and leading a high-performing quality team. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, deep knowledge of aerospace quality standards, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Quality Control Inspectors across multiple shifts, ensuring high performance, accountability, and technical excellence Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100/AS9120, and
FAA 14 CFR
requirements Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring product conformity and documentation accuracy Perform and approve First Article Inspections (FAIRs) and maintain Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), inspection records, and drawing libraries Program, operate, and provide training on CMM equipment and other precision measurement tools Manage calibration programs for all Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE), ensuring traceability and compliance Drive corrective and preventive action processes, including root cause investigations and implementation of effective solutions Monitor and report key quality metrics such as defect rates, NCMRs, customer returns, and on-time delivery performance Investigate customer quality concerns and collaborate directly with customer quality representatives to ensure timely resolution Prepare quality documentation and support external audits, source inspections, and regulatory reviews Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to improve product quality and operational efficiency Qualifications Proven experience managing quality systems within aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments Strong knowledge of
ISO 9001, AS9100/AS9120, FAA
regulations, and aerospace quality standards Experience conducting quality audits, supplier evaluations, and compliance reviews Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective actions, data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies Hands-on experience with CMM programming and precision inspection equipment preferred Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field preferred Aerospace manufacturing experience highly preferred Certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ASQ certifications are a plus #INDW3
