Full-time Job Overview:
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of transportation services provided under the FLETC Transportation and Motorpool Services Contract at FLETC Glynco. This role involves direct oversight of drivers, coordination with the government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and collaboration with the Project Manager to develop and implement processes that ensure efficient, timely, and contract-compliant operations. The QC Manager will maintain high standards of service delivery, conduct inspections, and provide detailed reporting to both the Project Manager and corporate office.
Key Responsibilities:
Driver Oversight and Quality Assurance:
Monitor and evaluate driver performance to ensure timely passenger pickups and adherence to scheduled routes. Conduct regular ride-alongs with drivers to assess service quality, safety, and compliance with operational standards. Verify that drivers complete post-trip inspections and bus cleaning procedures in accordance with contract requirements and company policies. Coordination with
Government COR:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the government COR regarding quality control matters. Accompany the COR on government-led inspections of transportation services and facilities. Review and provide initial sign-off on government reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract standards.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit daily quality control reports to the Project Manager and corporate office, detailing driver performance, inspection results, and any issues or corrective actions taken. Maintain accurate records of inspections, ride-alongs, and compliance activities for audit and review purposes.
Scheduling and Process Development:
Develop and manage a flexible, self-directed work schedule in coordination with the COR to ensure comprehensive oversight of transportation operations. Collaborate with the Project Manager to brainstorm, design, and implement procedures and processes that optimize operational efficiency and ensure full compliance with contract requirements.
Contract Compliance and Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in transportation services and work proactively to address deficiencies. Ensure all quality control activities align with the terms of the FLETC Transportation and Motorpool Services Contract and applicable federal regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control, transportation management, or a related supervisory role. Strong understanding of transportation operations, including driver management and vehicle maintenance protocols. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with government representatives and internal teams. Proven ability to develop and implement processes that improve efficiency and ensure compliance. Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities. Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check required for access to FLETC facilities.
