Job Description

Join Produce Innovations, a division of Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Full time Quality Control Tech I based out of our Norwalk, IA Branch . We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest region for over 130 years. We distribute to 11 different states across our 6 locations. The Quality Control Tech I is responsible for upholding the highest standards of food safety and product quality are maintained throughout the production process. This includes conducting routine inspections, calibrating equipment, performing audits, and supporting the plant's overall quality assurance efforts in compliance with regulatory and company policies. Responsible and a strong compliance to Food Safety and Employee Safety.
Key Responsibilities :
Routine Inspections:
Conduct inspections of food production processes, including finished product quality, regulatory compliance, label verification, sanitation, employee GMPs, training compliance, and HACCP adherence. Place product on hold as necessary.
Communication & Reporting:
Report product quality issues to Production and Quality Management teams to address concerns quickly and effectively.
Compliance Support:
Provide quality support for all plant operations to ensure compliance with facility and government regulations, SOPs, GMPs, and food safety policies.
Laboratory Equipment Calibration:
Calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing and analysis.
Safety & SOP Adherence:
Follow and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to Food and Employee Safety, GMPs, PPE, and hygiene to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Production Inspections:
Inspect all phases of plant production operations to ensure the overall quality and safety of finished products.
Management Support:
Support and follow directions from management, completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the plant's overall quality and safety objectives.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED preferred with 0-2 years of experience. Acknowledge quality standards of products Must be a self-directed individual with the ability to relate to people at all levels of the organization.
