Job Description

Quality Manager:
Rockford, IL Our client is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and strengthen its Quality Management System (QMS), drive quality performance, and ensure compliance across documentation, training, customer requirements, and operational processes. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a quality professional who thrives in a cross-functional environment and enjoys building systems, developing teams, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Systems Leadership Lead and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure procedures, standards, controls, and metrics are clearly defined and followed Drive accountability for quality performance across departments Document Control & Compliance Oversee procedures, work instructions, forms, and records Standardize legacy documentation and improve document organization Ensure documentation supports audit readiness and operational efficiency Audit Readiness Own the internal audit program, including schedules, reporting, and follow-up actions Serve as lead contact for customer, certification, and compliance audits Partner cross-functionally to resolve findings and improve controls Training & Competency Programs Develop training matrices, certification programs, and training documentation Ensure employees are trained to procedures and quality expectations Track completion and maintain compliance records Customer Quality Lead complaint investigations, corrective actions, escalations, and reporting Maintain customer-facing quality metrics and dashboards Ensure timely and professional communication with customers Continuous Improvement Lead quality-focused improvement initiatives using Lean, PDCA, 8D, or similar tools Analyze trends and metrics to improve processes and reduce risk Leadership & Team Development Supervise, coach, and develop quality team members Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration
Skills & Experience :
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Quality , Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field, required
Experience :
3-5+ years of experience in quality leadership, quality systems, or related roles, required
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of internal auditing practices, root cause analysis, document control, & metrics reporting, required
Industry:
Experience in electronics, distribution, manufacturing, or regulated industries, strongly preferred
Software:
ISO-based QMS , required What W e
