Job Description

NTN Driveshaft is a global leader in constant velocity technology, serving major automotive OEMs including Ford, Toyota, GM, Nissan, and others. With over 1,600 employees at our Columbus, Indiana facility, we are seeking an experienced Lean Six Sigma Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and quality control programs at the West plant. This role ensures compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, provides leadership to QA/QC teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. The position is also designed with a clear path to grow into a director-level role. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead QA/QC teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality from design through production and delivery.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs), identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Support and participate in customer, internal, and third-party audits, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, including audits and improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and Control Plans.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer quality concerns.
  • Stay current on automotive quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10-12 years of automotive quality experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and OEM/Tier 1 supplier requirements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional partners, and drive results.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with quality systems, SPC software, and ERP platforms.
