$85,000 - $110,000 + Bonus (Up to 15%, Paid Quarterly) About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and innovation, is seeking an In-Process Quality Supervisor to lead quality assurance and control efforts across laboratory, manufacturing, mechanical, and shipping operations. This hands-on leadership role will focus on process stabilization, quality system development, laboratory management, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive product quality and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Quality Lab & Process Stabilization Establish and maintain a fully functional quality laboratory. Develop, validate, and standardize testing methods and procedures. Calibrate quality equipment and train personnel on proper usage. Define baseline process parameters and implement consistent data collection practices. Drive process stability and consistency across shifts and departments. Quality Assurance & Inspections Ensure Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) specifications are applied consistently during in-process inspections. Verify proper test methods, equipment usage, and documentation practices. Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Discrepancy Resolution & Corrective Actions Lead investigations into in-process quality issues. Partner with production and engineering teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Drive sustainable solutions that reduce defects, scrap, and customer complaints. Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement Support implementation and enhancement of company-wide quality systems. Create and maintain standardized testing protocols, work instructions, and training materials. Develop training matrices and ensure procedural compliance. Lead audits, Kaizen events, A3 problem-solving activities, and Gemba reviews. Utilize data-driven methodologies to improve product and process performance. Leadership & Team Development Supervise, mentor, and develop quality personnel within laboratory and mechanical departments. Establish departmental objectives and performance expectations. Conduct employee evaluations and support ongoing training and development. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reduction in in-process defects and scrap. Decrease in quality-related customer complaints. Improved process stability and consistency across production shifts. Timely resolution of quality discrepancies and corrective actions. Increased adherence to CTQ specifications and quality standards. Required Bachelor's degree in Ceramics, Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience considered). 5-7+ years of supervisory experience in quality assurance or quality control roles. Experience establishing, developing, and maintaining quality systems. Proven success creating, documenting, and implementing quality standards and procedures. Experience converting attribute-based standards into measurable numeric standards. Strong understanding of laboratory testing methods and manufacturing quality processes. Knowledge of
SPC, ISO 9001, DMAIC, A3, 5
Why, and other quality improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
