Join us for an exciting opportunity with the Swan Dyeing & Printing division of Brookwood Companies, Incorporated at the Swan facility located in Fall River, Massachusetts. We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team. Our environment is supportive, energetic, and engaging, from which the Company seeks the same in this position.
Job Summary:
The Production Quality Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all quality, inspection, make-up, greige room, and shipping/receiving operations to ensure products consistently meet defined quality standards and customer expectations. This role drives continuous improvement in quality systems, reduces waste, and enhances operational efficiency and profitability. The position ensures alignment with the company mission to "Safely Produce Quality Products Efficiently" by implementing robust quality control programs, managing cross-functional processes, and resolving both internal and external quality issues. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management Lead, develop, and manage both union and non-union team members, including hiring, training, performance management, discipline, and termination. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and the collective bargaining agreement. Communicate effectively across shifts to align priorities, quality concerns, and operational updates. Quality Management & Continuous Improvement Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) programs. Establish and enforce quality standards for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Lead root cause analysis and drive sustainable solutions to reduce defects and rework. Manage customer complaints, internal quality issues, and return goods processes, ensuring timely resolution and communication. Ensure all outgoing products meet internal specifications and customer requirements. Operations Oversight Oversee all Make-Up operations, including pre-inspection, final inspection, rolling, and packing. Manage Greige Room operations, including receiving, inspection, and disposition of greige goods. Identify, communicate, and resolve greige quality issues with mills and customers. Direct all shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery. Coordinate workflow scheduling to meet production and customer delivery requirements. Ensure adequate supply of raw materials across departments. Process Efficiency & Cost Control Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve throughput, and optimize production processes. Monitor production lines to ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards. Partner with operations to improve yield, reduce scrap, and control costs. Develop and maintain procedures for accurate inventory control and traceability. Customer & Technical Interface Understand and apply customer-specific quality requirements and specifications. Maintain documentation (e.g., Make-Up notebooks) with detailed inspection and packing instructions. Serve as the primary point of contact for external quality communications with customers and suppliers. Prepare and present quality reports, metrics, and improvement plans to leadership. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
