Baltimore, MD Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $85,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Quality inspection Manufacturing Root cause analysis Manufacturing company experience Full Job Description We are hiring a hands-on Quality Manager to take ownership of quality systems in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment. This is not a desk-based role. You will be expected to operate on the production floor, enforce standards, and ensure product integrity at all times. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires a high level of accountability, urgency, and leadership. What You'll Be Responsible For Own all quality operations across production, including inspection, verification, and compliance Be present on the floor daily to ensure standards are followed and defects are identified early Lead and enforce quality expectations across all shifts—no exceptions Own corrective actions (CARs), including root cause analysis and permanent resolution Ensure all product released meets quality standards—no assumptions, no shortcuts Identify gaps in process and implement systems to prevent recurrence Hold operators and supervisors accountable to quality requirements Investigate defects and customer complaints with urgency and precision Maintain clear documentation and traceability for all quality-related activities Drive continuous improvement focused on prevention, not reaction What We Expect You lead from the floor—not from an office You do not rely on others to "say it's good"—you verify You are comfortable challenging production when quality is at risk You move fast, but you do not cut corners You take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution You operate with a high level of integrity—verification must be real, not assumed Qualifications 3-7 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role (Supervisor, Lead, or similar) Strong hands-on experience with inspections, defect identification, and process verification Experience with root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced production environment Strong communication and leadership skills High attention to detail and a low tolerance for quality risk Preferred Experience in paper, packaging, or converting manufacturing Familiarity with ISO or structured quality systems (practical application preferred) What This Role Is Not Not a paperwork-only quality position Not a passive or support-only role Not a position for someone uncomfortable enforcing standards Why This Role Matters This position is critical to maintaining product integrity, protecting our customers, and supporting continued production growth. You will have direct visibility to plant leadership and the ability to shape how quality is executed across the operation.
