Quality Supervisor Scope:
The Quality Control Coordinator maintains the quality system and all product controls related to the Adrian facility.
Essential Duties:
Verify that products are being manufactured according to cGMP, internal (BOM) product specifications and according to label claims, including First Piece Inspection. Monitor and help establish the standards for products, product specifications, and processes. Responsible for quality inspection/sampling/receiving duties and acceptance or rejection of product. Responsible for performing in-process production inspections as noted on process steps pages in batch tickets. Initiate and conduct material review processes when necessary and make disposition decisions in a timely manner. Monitor facilities and storage areas to ensure cGMPs are being followed. Keep Quality Management fully aware of new developments and issues in cGMP/Quality Control. Keep all records current and up to date. Make recommendations to improve Product Quality/Product Assurance/cGMP standards. Responsible for cGMP and quality of products; including recording all quality incidents on appropriate log(s). Review, approve and release all Batch Tickets prior to handoff to Production Review, approve and release all Batch Tickets prior to shipment Plant-wide log control and management activities Label control and management activities
  • Responsible to report any and all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.
  • Assist with other projects or duties as assigned. Competencies To be successful in this position, the associate must:

Requirements Requirements & Qualifications:
Some college or equivalent work experience ASQ Certification preferred Two to four years of field experience in quality control or laboratory position preferred. Working knowledge of laboratory methods and technical documentation required. Previous experience with c
GMP, GDP
preferred Previous experience in production, scheduling, supervision of personnel, time and motion, facility management, purchasing, etc., is strongly preferred. Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and standard office equipment (copier, fax, calculator, etc.) is required. Excellent work history, attendance, initiative and drive to succeed. Required Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions identified on master training log. Physical Environment/ Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.
  • The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
  • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc., when required. Summary Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
  • Associates in the Animal Plant may be exposed to raw ingredients and food allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat).
Work Hours This is a full-time position, with a generally set schedule (1st, 2nd or 3rd shift). However, the associate may be required to work overtime or work a flexible schedule based on operational need.
