Job Description

ABOUT AIRMASTER FAN CO.
Airmaster is a leading manufacturer of air circulation, local heating, and ventilation solutions for industrial and commercial applications. Founded in 1929 with roots going back to 1886, we operate out of our 120,000-square-foot facility in Clarklake, Michigan and are a proud member of the Maico Group, a global leader in ventilation technology with operations across four continents. We build products that keep people, plants, and processes running — and we take that mission seriously.
POSITION SUMMARY
Airmaster is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to build and lead a comprehensive production quality function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on professional who thrives on creating structure, accountability, and measurable improvement on a manufacturing floor. Reporting to the General Manager, the Quality Manager will own the full lifecycle of production quality — from establishing standards and metrics to managing customer warranty claims and returns. This role is a ground-floor opportunity: our quality program is being rebuilt new, and the right candidate will have significant latitude to shape its direction, processes, and culture.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Quality Program Development Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive production quality program for the manufacturing floor. Develop and document quality standards, inspection procedures, and control plans. Establish a culture of continuous quality improvement across production teams. Partner with engineering and operations leadership to integrate quality at every stage of the production process. Metrics & Reporting Create, track, and report on key quality metrics for manufacturing processes and finished products. Develop dashboards and reporting cadences that give leadership clear visibility into quality performance. Identify trends and root causes; drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). RMA & Warranty Management Own the end-to-end Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process for customer-returned products. Evaluate returned units to determine the root cause: shipping damage, customer misuse, or product quality issues. Coordinate findings with sales, customer service, and production to drive resolution and prevention. Maintain thorough records of warranty claims, return rates, and failure analysis findings. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with production supervisors and line leads to address quality issues at the source. Provide quality input to new product introduction and engineering change processes. Communicate quality performance and findings to leadership in a clear, data-driven manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required 3-7 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to create or significantly rebuild a quality management program. Experience managing customer RMAs, warranty evaluations, and returned goods analysis. Strong analytical skills and the ability to create and interpret quality metrics and KPIs. Proficiency with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5-Why, fishbone, etc.). Excellent documentation habits and attention to detail. Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting findings to plant and company leadership. Preferred Experience in industrial, mechanical, or electromechanical product manufacturing. Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, control charts, and inspection sampling plans. Background in warranty cost analysis or customer quality reporting. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive salary commensurate with experience . Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Paid time off and company holidays. A stable, established manufacturer with strong parent company backing and a long legacy of product quality. Significant autonomy to shape a quality function from the ground up. A team-oriented culture where your work has direct, visible impact.
