Job Summary The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company's Integrated Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple manufacturing facilities. The role ensures compliance with applicable standards including American Institute of Steel Construction requirements, ISO-based quality systems, customer specifications, welding quality requirements, and regulatory standards. This position leads all quality assurance and quality control activities for structural steel fabrication, modular buildings, generator enclosures, trailers, battery enclosures, HVAC equipment, and related manufactured products. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent product quality, managing audits and certifications, driving corrective actions, reducing defects, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Main Duties and Responsibilities Quality Management System (QMS) Develop, implement, maintain, and improve the Integrated QMS across all manufacturing locations.
Ensure compliance with:
AISC Certification requirements
ISO 9001
principles and systems Customer quality requirements Welding and fabrication standards Applicable codes and regulatory requirements Maintain controlled procedures, work instructions, forms, records, and quality documentation. Lead document control and revision management processes. Establish and monitor company quality objectives and KPIs. AISC Certification Management Serve as the primary management representative for AISC certification activities.
Maintain compliance with:
AISC Fabricator Certification Welding quality requirements Procedure qualification records (PQRs) Welder qualification records Inspection and testing requirements Coordinate annual AISC audits and corrective action responses. Ensure fabrication and welding operations meet approved procedures and standards. Work closely with production, engineering, and welding personnel to maintain certification compliance. Audits & Compliance Lead internal quality audits and supplier audits. Coordinate customer audits, third-party inspections, and certification audits. Ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and verified. Maintain audit readiness across all facilities. Reporting & Metrics Develop and maintain quality performance metrics and reports.
Track KPIs related to:
Defects, Rework, Scrap Customer complaints Audit findings Corrective actions Prepare reports for management review meetings. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 7-10 years of quality management experience in: Structural steel fabrication Modular manufacturing Heavy industrial fabrication Welding/fabrication environments Minimum 3-5 years managing quality systems and personnel. Experience implementing and maintaining integrated QMS systems. Direct experience with AISC certification requirements is strongly preferred. Experience with multi-site manufacturing operations is preferred.
