QUALITY ENGINEER CBR FLINT, MI
As a member of the Quality team, the Quality Engineer CBR will be responsible forbeing the primary contact between the manufacturing plant and the customer.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to: Primary interface between customer and the Manufacturing Plant (Columbia City, GM Flint, and GM Fort Wayne)
Proactively interact with the customers at their site as required or as necessary (At a minimum attend two GCA reviews per month at GM Flint and minimum 1 GM visit per week.)
Manage the Fast Response containment spreadsheet, must be utilized for all customer written concerns and ensure timely closure with corrective actions
Effectively communicate and report out the Global Customer Audits (GCA) from GM Flint and Internal GCA's using required charting
Thoroughly evaluate and log all customer return seats, determine root cause, corrective action, containment (including risk) while working with a cross functional Team
Coordinate customer issues to assure complete follow through for containment, floor communication and action to assure timely response per GM requirements, includes validating and verifying corrective actions
Assure segregation of all customers returned seats and after investigation, tear down seats and assure proper disposition of parts
Support MOS and WOS, reporting customer
DPPM'S, SPPS'S & QN'S
Provide and report all customer chargeback to Flint Finance Team
Manage the input of all SPPS's & PR's in GM Supply Power/LQTS (including warranty) for written complaints within the 24 hours of issue
Ensure all team members are included, such as the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager and Quality Manager. (This shall include hourly signature 's on the Quality Alert)
Monitor daily the GM Supply Power System for customer written concerns and chargebacks
Contact and follow-up with Lear Engineering on customer related issues as needed
Develop and post Quality Alerts for all customer reported issues
Support the develop and post Quality Alerts for all internal issues as needed
Perform internal IATF audit per annual schedule
Responsible for PTR's trials in the plant
Document in writing on matrix all PTR's
Report out PTR results and notify customer as required
Warranty- Data to be communicated Lear Flint Plant as received from Lear Corp. for all product lines
Post data in Customer Focus Action Center (Market Place)
Support and perform Poke Yoke Audits as needed
Support and fill in for Quality Coach as needed for all shifts
Lead and completed 2 IPPM/COPQ Kaizen projects per year to drive key KPI improvements
Support and attend Weekly Bump chart calls with other PPAP Coordinators, Program Managers & BOM Manager
Support supplier and customer breakpoints with latest information
Support and review upcoming changes and provide update for completed changes to Program Manager
Support and track ECN's and EWO's as needed
Support T1XX and T2XX supplier PPAP approvals and maintain required supporting documentation
Support PPAP conference calls
Have knowledge of GM customer specific requirements relative to product, process, expectations for quality related items
Communicate regularly with customer quality organization to keep the customer view of quality performance up to date
Coordinate necessary sorting activities on-site (Customer plants) in cooperation with the plant manufacturing quality team
Attend all customer initiated regular and sporadic quality meetings representing the Lear organization
Coordinates and actively participates in visits by the customer for quality related activities or audits
When observations are identified by the customer, responsible for the root cause analysis, the actions to correct and the verification actions are in place and effective
Supervises the manufacturing plant Liaison Team on site at the customer location ensuring that issues are addressed
Communicate to GM SQE / email the Liaison issues weekly
Weekly PPAP review for service
Complete the 7 Quality Modules with a passing score
Support IATF Internal Intertek Audits
Responsible for all supplier related issues reported by the customer, use SQTS for writing and tracking QN'S
Support prelaunch requirements (birth certificates, pictures, management review buy off documentation)
Your Qualifications:
Prior experience in automotive manufacturing
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Knowledge of terminology pertaining to quality assurance as needed to respond to questions and provide oversight.
Knowledge of various functions of an automotive plant such as maintenance, quality, production control, operations, and materials as needed to determine how they are interrelated and oversee employees in the quality department
Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, supervisors and co- workers at all levels in person and over the telephone.
