Job Description

Quality Manager 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Mendon, MI Position Summary The Quality Manager leads the plant's quality strategy for automotive injection molding and assembly operations, ensuring products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role owns and maintains the plant's IATF 16949, drives defect prevention in molding and assembly processes, and leads cross-functional teams to achieve zero-defect performance and high customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Maintain and continuously improve the
IATF 16949
certification. Serve as the management representative for IATF certification audits and surveillance. Ensure compliance with automotive customer-specific requirements for molded and assembled components. Oversee APQP and PPAP for new molds, tooling transfers, engineering changes, and assembly launches. Drive process capability and defect reduction in molding (short shots, flash, sink, warp, splay, contamination) and assembly (fit, torque, poka-yoke effectiveness). Implement and sustain Control Plans, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA for molding and assembly processes. Lead layered process audits (LPA). Analyze and report out on quality KPIs (PPM, scrap, COPQ, customer returns) and drive corrective actions. Ensure document control, change management, traceability, and training meet IATF requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Plastics, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of quality leadership in automotive injection molding and/or assembly manufacturing. Experience maintaining and leading
IATF 16949.
Strong knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans). Experience with mold validation, process capability studies, and launch quality. Experience with leading internal/external audits and interacting with OEM/Tier customers. Proven root cause analysis and corrective action leadership. Preferred Certified

Internal/Lead Auditor Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
