Opportunity:
This person oversees the company's quality processes and procedures to ensure all manufactured products meet or exceed required specifications and the company complies with required certifications. Responsible for monitoring the production process to make sure all products meet consistent standards. Specify corrective action and implement quality control objectives to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Reports to the president.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supervise the Inspection and CMM staff. Ensures reliable and accurate inspection methods and frequencies Maintains reliable quality control work instructions appropriate for customer requirements. Manages the system of traceability for part production and quality control checks from 1st article through shipping. Ensure a vendor certification and performance management system is in place and correct reporting is available to management. Maintains registrations and certifications of
ISO 9001
201: machining, finishing, and assembly of metal and plastic parts. Ensure compliance with OSHA, Certification, and industry standards are current. Coordinate annual outside audits for registration and certification. Initiate efforts to achieve additional and advanced certifications. Resolves customer problems efficiently and effectively. Investigates and documents non-conformance issues. Removes non-conforming inventory from available inventory in the plant and on M1. Manages the Corrective Action System for both internal and external work non-conformances. Initiates DMR's on non-conforming materials or services. Develops initial and subsequent modifications of quality system programs to clarify areas of responsibility, resource requirements, and operational programs to support the company goals and objectives. Provides expertise and assistance in formulating, developing and implementing changes in procedures and/or work systems to enable the company to operate at higher productivity levels. Participates in company Strategic and annual business planning. Communicates regularly with the COO regarding critical projects and processes. What makes you a great fit: Certification as Quality Engineer/Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Master is desired, OR 4-10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding and application of quality standards and processes. Ability to read Engineering Prints, technical documents and work instructions. Knowledge of industry Quality Certifications, Standards, Requirements and Processes including ISO. Comprehension of precision parts manufacturing and requirements. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Has ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Proficiency in use of ERP based operations software, and MS Office.
