Job Overview Nu-Tek BioSciences is looking for an experienced Quality Manager for its facility in Austin, MN. This exempt, salaried position will work closely with all departments and external stakeholders as an integral part of the team. The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the facility's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring that all products manufactured at AMC (Austin Manufacturing Center) meet company, customer, and regulatory quality standards. This role works closely with production, management, and technical teams to ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of quality and food safety systems. This individual will manage and direct two quality technician and participate in the selection, onboarding, and managing additional hires as needed. Key Responsibilities Quality Management System Manage and maintain the facility Quality Management System in accordance with industry standards includingISO 9001
2015 and certification programs recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative such as SQF. Participate in internal audits and ensure continuous improvement of the QMS. Maintain quality documentation, records, procedures, and corrective actions. Quality Assurance & Production Oversight Collaborate with senior management to establish quality benchmarks and performance objectives. Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure all product specifications are consistently met. Monitor production processes to verify conformity to established product and process standards. Oversee product testing and verification activities to ensure finished product compliance. Record and communicate quality findings to production and management teams. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve product quality, operational efficiency, and process consistency. Support production teams in implementing process improvements that enhance productivity without compromising quality. Evaluate and implement cost-effective quality improvements. Audits & Compliance Lead and manage customer audits, certification audits, and third-party inspections. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards. Track audit findings and manage corrective and preventive actions. Food Safety Acknowledge, support, and escalate food safety concerns when identified. Promote and support a strong food safety culture within the facility by: Maintaining and continuously improving the site food safety management system. Ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory food safety requirements. Supporting cross-functional food safety initiatives and training. Leadership & Support Serve as the backup to the Director of Quality when required. Provide guidance and support to production and technical teams on quality matters. Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Education & Experience Candidates must meet one of the following combinations of education and experience: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or related field) and a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing or production processing environment, or No bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing or production processing environment, including demonstrated leadership responsibility. Experience & Core Requirements Proven experience developing, maintaining, and improving a Quality Management System (QMS). Hands?on experience supporting or leading customer, certification, and third?party audits, including corrective and preventive actions. Experience working within regulated quality and/or food safety environments. Strong working knowledge of GFSI?recognized standards (e.g., SQF, BRCGS) andISO 9001
2015. Proficiency with computer systems and business software, including Microsoft Office. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem?solving skills, with the ability to work cross?functionally and influence outcomes. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Prior experience in a Quality Manager or equivalent leadership role with direct responsibility for supervising quality personnel. Experience leading certification audits and serving as the primary quality contact for customers and regulatory bodies. Professional certifications such as SQF Practitioner, ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA), or ISO Lead Auditor. Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting a strong quality and food safety culture. Compensation- Competitive salary/wage
