Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Director of Quality to lead our organization's quality assurance and compliance initiatives. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare regulations, coding systems, and compliance management, ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and regulatory adherence. As a leader in quality assurance, you will drive continuous improvement efforts across departments, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's quality management programs in accordance with industry standards such as JCAHO (The Joint Commission) and FDA regulations. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Medicare requirements, and other relevant federal and state laws. Lead the organization's efforts in maintaining accurate coding practices utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems to ensure proper billing and documentation. Conduct regular audits to verify adherence to clinical and operational standards; identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy, coding compliance, and proper billing procedures. Monitor regulatory changes affecting healthcare operations; update policies and procedures accordingly. Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance issues, coding updates, and regulatory requirements. Manage internal compliance programs to prepare for external audits by agencies such as JCAHO or other accrediting bodies. Maintain thorough documentation of quality assurance activities, audit results, and corrective action plans. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices in quality management across all departments. Skills Extensive knowledge of healthcare regulations including
HIPAA, FDA
regulations, Medicare policies, and JCAHO accreditation standards. Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and ICD coding practices. Strong understanding of compliance management principles within healthcare settings. Experience with regulatory audits and preparation processes. Ability to interpret complex regulatory language into actionable policies. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Effective communication skills for training staff and presenting findings to executive leadership.
