In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Summary The Quality Manager will manage Quality Supervisors and Quality Assurance operations in the factory and other areas as assigned. May manage calibration supervision and overall calibration operations in the factory. Responsible for execution of Quality Operations processes, and ownership of its business units; acting as an authority in overall Product Acceptance activities Duties and Responsibilities Plans quality audit activities to ensure adequate coverage of weapon quality, environmental, safety security, and health programs. Provides project management oversight to achieve quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Ensures training and qualification of employees performing internal and/or supplier quality audits, and /or product acceptance at vendor locations. Provides technical and administrative evaluation of the adequacy of audit practices and modifies as required to improve performance of department personnel. Develops and implements staffing plans, budget proposals, and travel requirements consistent with anticipated workloads. May estimate manpower requirements and schedules work to meet completion dates and technical requirements. Works with Quality leaders to develop productivity improvement strategies and workforce planning required to meet future workload demands. May execute supplier development activities to improve supplier performance. May facilitate effective cross business supply chain communications and/or project teams (Defense programs, Global Security, reimbursable). Will act as a direct customer interface on assigned projects and product/process Quality issues. Assures personnel are aware of and perform tasks in conformance to management policies and procedures. May be required to maintain quality records of survey and audit files and related supporting information. Establishes and maintains effective communications with NNSA, Quality and other FM&T organizations involved with survey performance, including corrective action assignments and verification of effectiveness. May provide audit trend information for use in monthly Operations Reviews, semiannual ISO Management Reviews, and business reviews to drive operational performance improvement. May conduct and coordinate a broad range of Quality Operations ownership assignments requiring extensive knowledge of Product Acceptance processes, equipment, drawing systems, HSE, program management, MES, MRP planning systems, facilities and lean principles and their application across Quality Operations that support manufacturing areas. May serve as the Price-Anderson Amendments Act (PAAA) Coordinator, coordinating the administration of the PAAA review and reporting process for the Director, Quality. May provide auditor training for FM&T and the Nuclear Weapon Complex. Also, may provide training for DOE, NNSA, other corporate Honeywell sites, and support the New Mexico 9000 Program for the Office of Economic Development for the State of New Mexico. May manage the Purchased Material Field Quality organization, ensuring the appropriate staffing at vendor locations. Oversees a significant annual budget for travel and equipment. May oversee 3rd Party Acceptance activities performed by contracted personnel or companies. Ensures contracted quality assurance personnel are trained and qualified to perform acceptance on behalf of FM&T. Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. May perform other duties if required. You Must Have Bachelors degree in a technical, scientific, or administrative field 7 or more years experience in multiple areas of Supply Chain organization (to include program management, materials management, quality, or engineering) Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations) United States Citizenship Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job Ability to travel up to 25% of the time We Value 2+ years of proven supervisory/managerial or leadership experience Budget Management or Accounting education or experience Project Management experience or PMP Certification Equipment Life-Cycle management experience Multi-Site operations experience Long range or strategic planning experience Calibration & Metrology experience This job description/job posting is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
