Job Description

Food Safety / Quality Control Manager Company Overview Taste Maker Foods is a family owned SQF 3 certified food manufacturer committed to producing high-quality Spice blends, Batters and Breaders while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. We are currently seeking an experienced Food Safety / Quality Control Manager to lead our Quality Control / Quality Assurance Department. Position Overview As the Quality Control Manager at Taste Maker Foods, you will be a key player in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products, aligning with FDA regulations, and maintaining SQF 3 certification. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager, demonstrating the ability to not only maintain but elevate our quality control department to the next level. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Control Team to achieve high levels of performance and adherence to quality standards. Stay abreast of FDA regulations and SQF standards to ensure the plant's compliance with all relevant food safety and quality control requirements. Serve as a primary SQF Food Safety/ Food Quality Practitioner and PCQI. Serve as contact for all Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory issues. Implement, manage and maintain quality control procedures in alignment with regulatory guidelines to monitor and enhance the quality of finished products. Maintain and ensure compliance with HACCP program. Ensure the effectiveness of master sanitation and pest control programs. Analyze QA data to improve product quality performance. Utilize customer complaint and feedback data to identify root cause, and product/raw material dispositions. Manage product labeling and development from the
FDA/USDA
compliance respect. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality control measures into various stages of the production process.
  • Foster effective communication and cooperation between Quality Control, Production, and other relevant departments. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Manager in a food manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations and SQF standards or equivalent certification.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and elevate a Quality Control Department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Salary Commensurate with skills and experience Range $90,000
