Job Description

QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD GENERAL FUNCTION
: Assists in the management of the quality assurance program to ensure that products meet or exceed regulatory and Company standards and requirements. Supervises quality assurance inspectors.
TYPICAL DUTIES
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Selects, supervises, instructs, assigns workload and evaluates Quality Assurance Inspectors. Prepares and maintains a written quality control program that meets company standards governing codes and regulations. Informs production personnel of regulatory changes. Conducts audits to prevent quality problems, identifies areas of concern, and instructs production personnel in proper procedures. Participates in customer inspections of manufacturing operations. Releases new products for shipment following final inspections. Compiles data regularly to ensure design will meet design criteria at delivery. Ensures quality by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Implements in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering and practices as applicable to division products. Considerable knowledge of welding processes. Good knowledge of measuring devices and tools and the ability to instruct inspectors on the proper operation. Ability to supervise and achieve quality assurance programs that ensure product integrity. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel, customers, and regulatory agents.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Associate's Degree in production management, industrial technology or related areas and extensive experience in product inspection duties combined with a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
