Job Description

The Quality supervisor is responsible for overall product quality and quality processes within the assigned facility and/or for the assigned product lines. This position is a key driver of problem resolution and process improvements. It is the interface between customers and production during this process. Manage and lead the Quality Control Technicians in daily QC functions including shift scheduling and coverage, development and performance reviews. Define and document product quality standards from customer and LEAN Six Sigma perspectives. Communicate and inform inspections and test results to Plant Manager, Shift Supervisor/Lead and Production supervisor/Manager. Consider quality standards and protocols within the Kurz Group, adjusting to local customer needs where required. Analyze and report variations to internal standards, define root cause and corrective actions, follow through implementation. Work towards new ISO certifications, improve documentation of standard operating procedures, update SOPs to reflect new business processes. Attend relevant industry standard committee meetings and translate information to internal specs when beneficial. Ensure quality standards are met. Maintenance of all current QC programs (incoming raw material release/testing, equipment calibration, production quality testing requirements and changes, production/quality standards, procedure manual, including procedure writing, update QC specs, testing sheets, testing protocol, organization of QC retains and files, overall lab area, etc.). Update and maintain product specifications between Kurz USA and the Kurz Group for product uniformity. Interaction with Production Managers and employees to minimize process variation and improve the quality level in all product lines. Consult Production Managers in quality matters and potential process improvements. Monitor customer complaints for repeat occurrences, investigate and translate findings into preventative action programs and permanent process solutions. Monitor wastage reports and participate in wastage meetings. Statistical analysis of test data for updating testing requirements, process improvement, and wastage reduction. Analyze, evaluate and validate customer complaints. Investigate internal root causes using appropriate methodologies like Lean Six Sigma. Define and internally communicate corrective actions and preventative action programs. Document and communicate corrective actions (CA, 8D reports etc.) to customers. Interact with customers, production, and LKG to investigate and resolve quality issues, travelling when necessary. Control implementation and compliance of those programs on an ongoing basis. Prepare/provide end product customer surveys and documentation (CoA or CoC). Provide technical assistance with completion of Special Test Requests, preparation of samples for inter-company testing, including return data compilation and filing Travel occasionally (max. 10%) Other responsibilities as required.

Identify root causes of issues & implement corrective actions
Quality-Control:
Possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to distinguish colors precisely to conduct thorough quality inspections. Proficiency in quality control principles and methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma Previous QC related experience and a minimum four-year degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering preferred 3 years of lead/ supervisory experience Lean SixSigma certification desired
ISO 9001
experience required, ISO 16949 and
ISO 14001
would be a plus Strong computer fluency (Excel, Word, MiniTab, Access knowledge a plus) Statistics proficiency SAP experience preferred
