Job Description:
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Quality Control Supervisor in the Charlotte NC area This is a full time direct hire position with benefits Salary range: 75k to 90k The QC Supervisor is a vital member of the Quality Team and a diverse, high-paced role with the following primary responsibilities: Responsibilities include: Lead and enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, training, and daily engagement Train, mentor, and develop Quality Control personnel to ensure timely, thorough, and prioritized inspection execution Manage team performance including timecards, PTO, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions Ensure accurate time and production reporting in ERP (Epicor) and eQMS (Babtec) systems Schedule and direct inspection workflow based on production needs and operations priorities Communicate accurate status of critical inspection activities to production, project management, and leadership Maintain accountability for meeting departmental deadlines and commitments Oversee inspection activities across all production areas including incoming, machining, forming, welding, assembly, finishing, passivation, and final inspection Perform and support inspections as needed, including reviewing drawings, verifying dimensions, and assisting with part identification Ensure inspection of materials, in-process work, and finished products meets project and specification requirements with proper documentation Maintain and control Material Test Reports and quality records, including review, scanning, and filing Ensure all nonconformances and deviations are properly documented and processed Maintain calibration of inspection and testing equipment, including coordination of third-party services as required Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, etc.) and required certifications (AWS
CWI, SNT-TC-1A
) Develop and improve procedures, work instructions, and process flows to reduce variation and improve efficiency Participate in and drive continuous improvement initiatives Interface with customers, third-party inspectors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on quality requirements Support inspection operations through procurement of tools, materials, and supplies Maintain organization and housekeeping standards within inspection areas Qualifications Minimum 5 years of leadman or supervisory experience over teams of 3 or more employees Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to use a tape measure and apply construction and machining math to complete inspections Ability to read and interpret engineering fabrication/machine drawings and documents such as codes, standards, safety rules, and procedure manuals Familiarity with welded metal fabricated products including mild carbon steel and stainless steel Proficiency in
Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to work effectively and efficiently with team members on multiple projects simultaneously Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a logical thought process Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Desire to learn and continue developing knowledge and skills Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, etc. Experience with Codes of Construction AWS D1.6, D1.1, and ASME Section IX Minimum 10 years of combined visual/dimensional inspection and NDE experience AWS CWI and experience with
AWS/ASME
codes are strongly preferred Knowledge of ERP software (Epicor experience a plus)
